The Tubesca Dock team has recently designed, delivered, and commissioned a Wing Maintenance Docking based on a combination of several 6 m by 3 m lightweight modules.
Once set up all together, these docking modules generate a single floor covering from the engine to the wing tip and being larger than the wing surface to provide a simultaneous access to the wing intrados and to leading and trailing edges.
All modules adjust in height thanks to an electrically driven mechanical elevation system to perfectly fit B777/B787 and A330/A350 aircraft, being either on wheels or on jacks.
All modules can be used to fully cover the wing, or only some of them to cover a selected wing’s area. It also makes the storage easier since all modules can be set apart and stored along the hangar wall or moved outside to free the hangar.
Access to the work floor is gained through independent mobile stands. Those stands can be placed at several locations and be operated to also provide access to PAX doors, fuselage windows…
The time for setting Tubesca docks in place is very short. Once the aircraft is docked, there is no need for docks’ adjustment until the end of the check and maintenance phase.
