A versatile A320/B737 Tail Docking consisting of two symmetrical half-docks has been recently delivered to a customer located in Eastern Europe. The Tail Docking provides a safe and ergonomic access to the horizontal and vertical stabilizers. It gives access to the APU compartment and the trim bay compartment.
The electrically driven hydraulic elevation system gives the possibility to adjust in height the Tail Dock to fit both the B737 and the A320, being either on wheels or on jacks.
Each half dock is easy to move and to place in contact with the aircraft, thanks to its lightweight rigid supporting structure.
Dedicated Jib cranes with hoists have been incorporated inside the tail dock to facilitate the removal of the Elevator and the Rudder.
Once the aircraft is docked, there is no need for docks’ adjustment until the end of the check and maintenance phase. Rudder tests can be performed within the tail dock.
